Course Reflection:

I believe that my thesis course did a great job of assimilating the vast range topics that I learned in my 5 years in Architectural Engineering.  Furthermore, my experience during the three summers I worked on internships that I recieved through a Penn State info session proved very helpful in providing me with the knowledge necessary for completing this course.  The class can be very time consuming and stressful at times but it is necessary to get all of the work done that is needed.   In the Fall, the work load mainly focused on the project in general and gave the students time to figure out any problems the team had or any constraints the owners held the project to.  In hindsight, I really appreciated this approach because of the flow it created.  In the Spring, I enjoyed that we could choose whatever analyses that we thought were the most interesting and the most beneficial.  I chose to look at raised access flooring, a single-ply roof, and polished concrete becasue I believed they were interesting comparisons and added value to the project.  I feel as though I gained a lot from researching and developing these analyses on my own, with the help from many industry professionals and my advisor Dr. Somayeh Asadi.  In conclusion, I found this capstone assignment was a great transition in my career from an academic standpoint to a more professional standpoint.

CPEP Reflection:

The CPEP site taught me how to manage my work in a portfolio system that others can view and critique.  I now have the knowledge to make and manage a website that I can take into my career.
